Dushi Digital Roleplay

The Dushi Digital Roleplay Application was a project of Dushi Huis, part of Stichting Kind aan Huis. The goal of the mobile application is to help to train employees in the use of the “Dushi method” by simulating practical situations through interactive roleplay.
The experience consists of a variety of simulated situations for users to resolve. After each completed simulation there is a module aimed at reflection. The experience was designed in such a way that it accurately simulates realistic and complex situations where urgency and emotion often plays a role.
Reason for the project was the organization’s wish to incorporate interactive media tools during the training of employees to help them apply their knowledge in practical situations. Media in the form of instruction videos had thus far proven to be insufficient in teaching the practical application of learned knowledge.

I was tasked with analyzing the problem and designing an appropriate solution. To achieve a favorable result, I decided on a flexible and iterative approach utilizing the Double Diamond design model. Additionally, I chose an user centered approach to co-create with the target audience and test the product’s effectiveness.
From start to finish, I have been responsible for a multitude of design-related tasks, including: Project planning, exploration, research, assessment, narrative design, user experience, development and finally the delivery of the product and documentation.
At the end of the project, the interactive mobile application was adopted successfully and led to a significant improvement in learning.
